Basketball

Old Edwardians Basketball Club has been participating in the West Midlands League, Division 2 since 2006. In 2008, the club finished a disappointing 8th after having pushed for promotion at the top of the league table for the previous two years. However, during this rebuilding year the team has trained hard, adding a number of new players and is optimistic for a better season in 2009.The team comprises of players ranging from rookie old boys on a gap year, to old boys who have not attended big school for ten years or more. Competing at a high standard, the team owes much to the fundamental skills taught by the long tenured coach, Mr Stuart Birch.

Training takes place at the King Edwards' School Sport Hall on Sunday afternoons, 5pm. The team plays fixtures in a season from late September to March, in the local league. Pre-season training is due to commence at the end of August.
