Biennial Dinner 2014
This year's Biennial Dinner took place on Saturday, 11 October and we welcomed over 180 Old Edwardians back to the school for this special evening.
The school opened at 5pm which provided a wonderful opportunity for OEs to look around, catch up with old friends and reminisce. At 5.45pm the school Swing Band performed in the auditorium of the new Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, which was followed by a drinks reception. All then moved over to Big School for dinner at 7.30pm.
The dinner also commemorated 100 years since the outbreak of the First World War, particularly remembering those Old Edwardians who died in the conflict. Speeches were given by Colonel Oliver Lee OBE (1991), Lieutenant Colonel Nick Keen (1977) and the Chief Master, John Claughton (1975), all introduced by the OEA Chairman, John Wheatley (1969).
It was yet another extremely successful OE event, evident via the many photos taken from the evening.
Lieutenant Colonel Nick Keen (1977) joined the Royal Signals in the Army more than 30 years ago. Since then he has served in many countries including commanding a Squadron of 200 in Northern Ireland. Nick now serves in NATO and is based at their Headquarters in Brussels. |

Colonel Oliver Lee OBE (1991) joined the Royal Marines 23 years ago and has been based in Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan, where he was in command of more than 2,000 men. |
