Old Edwardian Golfing Society

The Society has been in existence for over 50 years and at present has about 70 members, some more active than others. It offers a mix of good social golf and more serious competition in national public school events.

Our golfing year begins in early March with an annual match at Edgbaston Golf Club against the School (usually a mix of boys and masters, including on occasions, the Chief Master). We have a full day's golf at Harborne Golf Club in early May and a similar autumn meeting at another course.

There are three annual matches against other Societies - the Old Silhillians and the Old Veseyans whose "home" courses are Olton G.C. and Moor Hall G.C. respectively, and Old Warwickians , a fixture new to 2009 . We treat Harborne Golf Club or Moseley Golf Club as our home course for these matches.

The Public School events take place throughout the golfing season. The most prestigious is probably the Halford Hewitt which is held in early April at the Royal St Georges and Cinque Ports courses at Sandwich - foursome golf played off scratch!
We also compete in the Grafton Morrish event at Olton G.C., the Cyril Gray (for over 50s) at Worpleston G.C. and the M K Foster Challenge Cup which is held annually at Little Aston G.C.

The Society's membership comprises all ages and all golfing abilities. Any OEs who enjoy a game of golf would be more than welcome to join us; the annual subscription is extremely affordable. We are of course particularly keen to hear from more recent school leavers in order to ensure the Society flourishes into future generations.
