RWS Group receives prestigious award

01 May 2015

RWS Group, the world's leading provider of translation, intellectual property and language support services, has been awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2015.

The annual Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious business awards, acknowledging companies which are outstanding in their field.

RWS's Award recognises its continuous achievement in international trade over six years; trading with 71 overseas markets and expanding its share of international translations, particularly patents filed in new markets outside Europe. Charles Sitch (1988), Managing Director at RWS Group, will receive the Award on behalf of the company.

Andrew Brode (1959), Chairman of RWS Group, said: "RWS has gone from strength to strength and I am proud that our market leading performance is being recognised. This is the fifth occasion that we have received the Queen's Award under each Prime Minister from Margaret Thatcher to David Cameron, and is testament to the quality and commitment of the entire staff in the UK, France, Germany, China, Japan and the USA."

RWS Group was established in 1982 and is a global leader in language services, employing over 600 staff worldwide. It is a leading provider of intellectual property support services and high-level technical translation and localisation services for clients in the engineering, electronics, pharmaceutical and life sciences, chemical, legal and financial industries.

Andrew made a substantial donation towards the Andrew Brode Wing at King Edward's School, which opened in 2013, and a large part of this facility is devoted to modern languages teaching.
