Report
The day started with tea and coffee in the staff common room before a quick welcome from the Chief Master, John Claughton, in his study. There was then a School lunch in the School Dining Hall complete with a proper School pudding - apple pie and custard! After a quick group photo the old boys then visited the Foundation Offices to hear a talk by Foundation Archivist, Alison Wheatley, and to see some of the KES archive material, including the original architect drawings of the New Street School by Charles Barry. The group were then led on a tour of the School by Derek Benson and Phil Lambie, two previous KES teachers. The tour included a visit to some classrooms, the chapel, the library and, of course, Big School. Finally the old boys arrived in the Chief Master's study for some well earned tea and cakes before they dispersed back up the drive full of renewed friendships and memories.
