Biennial Dinner 2022
The 44th Biennial Dinner took place on Saturday 14th May with over 180 Old Edwardians coming together to celebrate. After a three year delay due to the pandemic, the traditional event had a slightly different feel as it was shared with the year group reunions for those celebrating 10, 20, 30 and 40 years as Old Edwardians. Guests travelled from all over the world to attend and we welcomed representatives from the Class of 1947 all the way through to 2021. The evening provided a fantastic opportunity for Old Edwardians to catch up over a drinks reception at the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, and a three-course dinner in the Dining Hall. The evening culminated with drinks back in the Performing Arts Centre foyer with guests spilling out onto the lawn on a lovely summers evening.
Before dinner, guests heard from Ian Metcalfe (OE 1976) who gave the welcome address and introduced (for the first time to many), the Chief Master, Dr Katy Ricks. Dr Ricks spoke about the School and its plans for the future as well as reminiscing about her time teaching here between 1989 and 2002.
Prior to the drinks reception our Prefects were on hand to show Old Edwardians around the School allowing guests to walk the corridors and reminisce about their school days.
Photographs from the evening are available to view here.
