Bill Oddie (1959)

A photo of John Field (Head boy) who was apparently in charge of the welfare of the shird. Yes, it does look like a penguin and why it was called the shird I have no idea ("bird" I presume but dunno what the "sh" bit is.) Anyway, I fear it is now almost certainly extinct. Maybe a world wide web search is in order.
