Diamond & Golden Anniversary Reunion 2024

Our Diamond and Golden Anniversary Reunion was held on Saturday 24th February 2024 where we had 63 Oes attend, 21 from KES and 43 from KEHS. This was a joint event across both King Edward's School and King Edward VI High School for Girls. We even had a couple of Old Edwardians attend who were celebrating their Platinum Anniversary!

The day began separately, with tea and coffee in the Design Centre for the boys and in the School Hall for the girls. This included a welcome address from Principal, Kirsty von Malaisé for the girls and from Deputy Chief Master, Debbie McMillan and Former Chief Master, Keith Phillips for the boys.

Guests then moved to the classrooms in the Design Centre where they were allocated time to browse the online archives, catch up with old friends and contribute to their very special Alumni Yearbook. This was such a lovely thing for our Old Edwardians to get involved with and lots of reminiscing was certainly taking place.

Following the Yearbook activity, guests headed down to lunch where there was a delicious array of foods on offer. Again, this was a lovely opportunity to sit with fellow classmates and reminisce on their times at school while enjoying the delicious food.

The afternoon was filled with tours of KES for the boys and tours of KEHS for the girls, which were kindly hosted by prefects from both schools. Highlights of the tours included, The Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, Andrew Brode Sports Centre and the school library amongst many other important parts of the school. This was a great opportunity for OEs to reminisce on their school days, visit some of their old haunts and see how the schools have changed since they were a pupil here.

The day ended with more tea, coffee and cake and the opportunity to participate in some archive interviews. The day was a great success, filled with plenty of catching up!
