Jazz Afternoon 2015
A special jazz concert was held in the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre on Sunday, 21 June 2015 featuring the School's Senior Swing Band and Old Edwardian, Joe Thompson (1983), musical director and resident pianist at The Ivy in London.
Joe left King Edward's in 1983 and is now the musical director of London's world famous The Ivy and The Club at The Ivy. He plays piano there four or five times a week, including once a week with a jazz trio, to some of the most successful people in the arts and the media. Joe has collaborated with many musicians, singers and actors - many of whom have been known to join him for an impromptu performance whilst at The Ivy.
The School's Senior Swing Band also performed during the afternoon, and received a masterclass with Joe prior to the concert.
