Michael Stuart Green

Michael Stuart Green, Painter and Printmaker (1959)

A one-man company producing original prints in the form of woodcuts, monotypes and other techniques whereby images are originated and developed employing authentic printmaking methods. A true, original print cannot exist in any other art format; it is not a copy of another picture; its origin is a matrix (such as a wood block or an etched plate) made, refined and then printed by the artist. Though a painter as well as a printmaker I deplore reproductions represented as prints, but which have no intrinsic value, which debase true printmaking and rook purchasers.

Working all over the UK, we have helped dozens of practices and have a growing list of case studies and research on our website.
